Because of the high altitude in Bryce Canyon don't go too late in the fall. The temperatures will run 20 degrees colder than Zion National Park. The first of October brought some frost at night.
We spent 1 week in the Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. It has the largest colorful photographic area anywhere. It doesn't matter much which trail you hike and explore there are new wonders to behold.
Oct 7, 2009 DAY 1 BRYCE CANYON Queens Garden Loop Trail
This set of picutres are all on our first hike down the Queens Garden and back up the "Wall". The trail starts within walking distance from the campground near the rim where it's spectacular looking in any direction. This is a 3.5 mile loop hike.
Oct 8 2009 DAY 2- BRYCE CANYON- Sights from the View Points
We took in most of the turnouts on the road that follows from the campground on up. For those who cannot hike there is plenty to view from the spots with turnouts and parking areas along the route. At some of them there is a short walk out to the various points. Most are wheel chair accessible.
Oct 9 2009 DAY 3- BRYCE CANYON- Bryce Point to Sunset Point Along the Rim Trail
Oct 10 2009 DAY 4- BRYCE CANYON- Peakaboo Loop Trail
Oct 11 2009 DAY 5 - BRYCE CANYON- Navajo Trail
When we hiked the Queens Garden Trail we came back up the Wall trail on day 1. The Navajo trail starts from the rim down about 1/4 mile then branches off. The right hand trail is the Wall Trail which is the route we came up to the rim. Rather than going down the Wall we took the left hand trail to the bottom where it meets the Wall Trail again but we turned and went back up to the rim on the Queens Garden trail. The pictures here only shows the Navajo Trail part.
