Near the end of October we arrived in Oakzanita Springs Thousand Trails RV Resort. It's 20 miles south of Julian and 6 miles north of I-8 at 4000 foot altitude.
On the last of October Sandy and I climbed Oakzanita Peak. It's very close to our camp site. November 2 we climbed up to view Still Hill Waterfall with a 1400 foot elevation climb. We should be able to see in the distance on clear days Point Loma. It was to hazy but the view was still great. After leaving the fire road we followed this faint trail down over 500 feet in altitude to view the falls. When we finally got back to the fire road we continued on up the road to make the hike a loop around Middle Peak. We logged in 9 miles for the day with 1900 feet of elevation climb. We both still had fun.
How to view the pictures
Before clicking on one of the thumbnails to see the slides you should enlarge the window as much as possible. The function key F-11 should give you a full screen. Now click on the first thumbnail to start the pictures. When you hover over the lower center of the picture you will see the arrows to click on to go forward or back. I suggest you advance the pictures manually rather than pushing the center one for the slide show. That will give you time to view and read the captions. To cancel the full screen, push the F-11 key again.
