My brother Dick bought a 30 foot 5th wheel from a relative in Pasadena California. Dick is living in Tennessee and when his wife retires in September the plan is to move back to the Pacific Northwest. To be specific, Salem Oregon. I drove to Portland Oregon and picked up Dick at the airport and drove with him to pick up his "new to him" trailer. It had been sitting in storage in the weather for about four or five years. We had installed four new tires and then towed it with my pickup back to Salem.
I picked him up at 1:30 and had lunch with our sister in Portland then we hit I-5 for the 1000 mile treck on south. Somewhere south of Salem it started to sprinkle. Within a half hour it increased to a heave rain. It poured rain till we got over the pass into California.
We pulled into a rest area for a few hours of sleep then continued on south. We arrived in Pasadena in the late afternoon. Sabbath we went to the Glendale church and spent the day with relatives and Sunday got the tires installed then started north around noon with the 5th wheel. South of Eugene we pulled into a rest area. It was nicer sleeping in the RV rather than in the pickup. Dick's son Gary lives in Salem so we spent the day there. We put in the new batteries then parked the RV at a friends place. The next afternoon we headed on to Portland and late in the afternoon I dropped Dick off at the airport for his flight back to Tennessee and I drove the 170 miles on to Ione. I arrived around 10 p.m.
That's to much driving each day for a retired person. The only pictures I took was on our way back from Weed of Mt Shasta.
