Acton CA, Soledad Canyon 1000 trails perserve

On January 18, 2010 Sandy and I moved from Desert Hot Springs to the 1000 Trails Soledad Canyon Resort. It's a large spacious preserve and are enjoying our stay here. We left Desert Hot Springs a day early to avoid breaking up camp in the rain. Just as we pulled out it started raining. Soon it was coming down in torrents. We battled heavy side winds all the way here. It was raining so hard when we arrived that we pulled off in the parking lot and had lunch and waited for the rain to slow up a little bit before we checked in and started setting up. I found out my old gortex raincoat does not shed rain like it used to. Oh well I do seem to be waterproof. The next morning a bobcat was out hunting for a meal and I was able to get his picture.

On the 20th I took Sandy to the Plane to see her sister in Florida. It's about 80 miles each way to the Ontario Airport. It was a trip with heavy rain. Sandy's plan was to stay with Linda for one week then fly back. That night after arriving in Florida Sandy had a severe attack of pain in the abdomen area. She went to emergency at a hospital and spent the night. She felt better the next day and they had set her up with a doctor that said she had stones in the bile duct. That was not the case. Sandy flew to Spokane and I pulled the RV there. On Wednesday Feburary 3 Sandy saw her doctor that had done the gastric bypass surgery on Sandy. After looking at the cat-scan he said she does not have stones or sludge but noticed her intestines were backed up. She was prescribed this terrible tasting stuff that will flush her out. She has another appointment to see him next Monday the 8th. We hope to be back south where it is warmer soon.

Below are pictures I took while here. The main feature was the bobcat and the second feature was the washed out roads in the RV park.
